Steering Wheel Locks Available for Hyundai and Kia Drivers in Lincoln
LINCOLN–(KFOR June 21)–If you own a Hyundai or Kia vehicle, you are eligible for a free steering wheel lock from Lincoln Police.
Erika Thomas is LPD’s public information manager and says these locks are available on a first come, first serve basis and you must bring a valid vehicle registration for proof of Hyundai and Kia ownership. Between January 1st and May 26 of this year, there were 57 thefts involving Hyundai and Kia vehicles in Lincoln. There are 240 locks available, as long as supplies last, and you must be a Lincoln resident to receive one.
Those locks are available at LPD’s Northeast team station at 52nd and “R”, the NW team station at 27th and Holdrege and the Police/Fire Station combo at 66th and Pine Lake Road between 8am and 4pm daily.
