Senator Sasse Works with Representatives to Send NBA Commissioner a Letter

Senator Ben Sasse, and Representative. Mike Gallagher, alongside Rep. Tom Malinowski, and other Members of Congress, Thursday sent a letter to NBA Commissioner Adam Silver expressing concerns over the league’s response to Houston Rockets General Manager, Daryl Morey’s, tweet in support of Hong Kong’s pro-democracy movement.

The letter also warns of the threat that capitulating to Chinese Communist Party censorship sets for free speech among other multinational groups and corporations.

In the letter, the writers say “Unless American businesses aggressively confront this intimidation campaign, the Chinese government will increasingly punish free speech outside China’s borders.”
