Wife, Husband Die Following Domestic Disturbance at Suburban Omaha Home
LAVISTA–(KFOR Oct. 29)–A 45-year-old Sarpy County woman and her 44-year-old husband are dead, after an apparent domestic violence incident at their home in the Chalco Hills area of suburban Omaha early Monday morning.
According to the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office, Rebecca Geiger died after she was was allegedly shot by Rory Geiger. The couple’s 19-year-old daughter called 911, telling dispatchers her father shot her mother and he pointed a gun at her. When deputies arrived, Rory Geiger turned his attention toward law enforcement and apparently fired the first shot from the house, while investigators returned fire. Life-saving measures were performed on Rory Geiger, but he was pronounced dead.
The 19-year-old woman and her sister were inside the home at the time of the incident and were unharmed. Five deputies have been placed on administrative leave, pending the outcome of the investigation. They were not hurt.
Rebecca Geiger was a special education teacher at Omaha Westside High School.
