Two Arrests Made Related to Sept. 8 Shooting in Downtown Lincoln
LINCOLN—(KFOR Oct. 16)—Two arrests have been made in connection to the Sept. 8 shooting death of 24-year-old Saiveon Hopkins of Lincoln.
In a release sent to KFOR News, Lincoln Police said in a coordinated effort with Omaha Police, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, investigators on Wednesday arrested23-year-old Kavion Wright of Omaha for 1st degree murder, use of a firearm to commit a felony, and two counts of 2nd degree assault.
Investigators also arrested 30-year-old Gregory Bahati of Omaha for aid and abet 1st degree murder, aid and abet use of a firearm to commit a felony, and two counts of aid and abet 2nd degree assault. Wright and Bahati both had active arrest warrants issued the day prior to their arrests.
The shooting occurred following a disturbance outside a bar near 11th and “O” Street.
LPD is expected to give more information about this case at a news conference on Thursday afternoon.
