Turtles Hit By Cars Crossing Roads

Beware of the turtles!

Wildlife rescuers told Channel 10-11 News more reports than ever are coming into Lincoln of turtles that have been hit by cars while crossing the road. Females turtles are especially prevalent as they are coming on to dry land to lay their eggs. Animals Control urges drivers to let the turtles pass or use a blanket to move them on to land in the direction they are headed. Never use your bare hands to move a turtle or keep them as pets. If you do see an injured turtle, please call Animal Control.
