Ted Carter, who the Regents designated as their Priority Candidate last Friday, says he’s excited at the chance to motivate students.The leading candidate to head the University of Nebraska System says he considers students to be the customers, and their graduation is the number one job for instructors and administrators. Carter recently ended five years as Superintendent of the U.S. Naval Academy, and says he believes the needs of the university of Nebraska are a good fit for the skills he offers. He will hold numerous public meetings at each Campus of the University and aslo around the state over the coming month. The Regents designated him Friday as their leading candidate to head the N-U System, but plan to vote at the end of the 30 day period on whether to offer him the job.
