LINCOLN–(KFOR Oct. 30)–A 41-year-old Omaha woman was arrested Wednesday following a pursuit that started in a Cass County and ended in northeast Lincoln.

According to a release from the Nebraska State Patrol to KFOR News, troopers were notified about the Cass County Sheriff’s Office pursuing a vehicle that had been driving recklessly and in the wrong lane of traffic on several roads in western Cass County.  Deputies lost sight of the vehicle.

Around 11am, NSP got information about someone causing a disturbance at a gas station in Waverly and it turned out to be the person involved in the Cass County pursuit.  After the vehicle left the gas station, a trooper saw it heading westbound on Highway 6 toward Lincoln.  A traffic stop was attempted, but the driver of the Suburu Legacy refused to stop and led to another pursuit.

The patrol said the vehicle left Highway 6 onto Cotner Boulevard, heading toward 70th Street and the trooper made a traffic stop before it got into some nearby neighborhoods.  The driver, Sevelia Cook, was taken into custody and investigators found 24 grams of suspected methamphetamine.

Cook was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs, flight to avoid arrest, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under suspension, and refusal to submit to a DUI test. She was lodged in Lancaster County Jail.
