LINCOLN–(KFOR Oct. 7)–A disturbance Saturday night just before midnight in the Haymarket, where several fights broke out in the area of 8th and “N” Street that involved 30 people.

Lincoln Police spokesperson Erika Thomas says as one officer was trying to take a man into custody, a woman in her 20s, wearing a red tank top and jean shorts swung and hit the left side of the officer’s face. At the same time, another officer was working to separate another fight, when he was hit and kicked in the head three to four times. No suspects have been arrested for those incidents.

When the crowd of people started to leave, police soon found out about a gun in the area and the suspect started to jog away, before he was told to stop. Complying with officers, 23-year-old Kesaiah Parks was arrested for disturbing the peace and refusing to comply to an order from a police officer. A loaded handgun was found on the ground near Parks.
