In Nebraska, it costs a diabetic an average of more than $5,000 a year to manage their treatment, the lowest average cost in the country.
A single vial of insulin costs between $300 and $400. 1 of every 10 Nebraskans has diabetes, that’s more than 195,000 Nebraskans.
From 2007 to 2017, Nebraska had a 44% increase diabetes, joining South Dakota and Kansas for the largest increase.
