LINCOLN–(KFOR Sept. 10)–A 31-year-old New York man has been cited for third-degree assault and obstructing a peace officer during an incident Monday morning at a Lincoln bank.

According to Lincoln Police, officers were called to LincOne Federal Credit Union near 48th and “W” about a fraud, where bank employees reported a man, later identified as Donnell Jones, was in the lobby and had completed a loan application using a false name and tried to cash a $60,000 check. As police showed up, Jones got up, pushed an employee and ran out of the building.

Officers chased him, giving verbal commands to stop, but Jones kept running and jumped off a retaining wall in a nearby restaurant parking lot. A taser was deployed on Jones and he was taken into custody.

He was checked out at a hospital for a broken ankle before he was taken to jail.
