Motorcyclist Injured in Saturday Afternoon Crash
LINCOLN—(KFOR Sept. 21)—A serious crash early Saturday afternoon in south Lincoln has left a motorcyclist with life-threatening injuries.
According to a release from Lincoln Police to KFOR News. The preliminary investigation determined a white Dodge delivery van driven by a 35-year-old man from Omaha was eastbound on the Pioneers Blvd. access road between Nebraska Parkway and 33rd Street. He turned left in front of a motorcycle driving westbound, and the bike collided with the rear passenger side of the van.
The motorcyclist, a 56-year-old Lincoln man, was taken to a local hospital for emergency surgery. His injuries are considered life-threatening. Police say he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Investigators say the van driver was uninjured. He is being voluntarily evaluated by an LPD Drug Recognition Expert although no impairment was suspected on scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
