More Members of Nebraska Task Force 1 Called Up to Help Ahead of Hurricane Milton

LINCOLN–(KFOR Oct. 7)–Twenty more members of Nebraska’s Urban Search and Rescue Team, Task Force 1, are being activated ahead of the next major storm taking aim at the Florida Gulf Coast.

LFR Spokesperson MJ Lierman says those 20 members of Task Force 1 will be deployed on Monday morning to North Carolina. Notifications were initially sent out Sunday evening that task force members would be sent to the southeast ahead of Hurricane Milton, which became a Category 4 storm on Monday morning.

The current group from Nebraska Task Force 1 has been busy with various types of operations across the southeast in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.
