LINCOLN–(KFOR Sept. 9)–The person shot and later died from his wound early Sunday morning following an incident outside a downtown Lincoln bar has been identified as 24-year-old Saiveon Hopkins of Lincoln.

The deadly shooting happened when a large fight broke out along 11th Street between “O” and “P” Streets, according to LPD Assistant Chief Jason Stille. A Lincoln man in his 40s was also wounded. Stille says the description they were given based on witness accounts and video they obtained from the incident shows they are looking for a black male, 5-7, 25-years-old, wearing a white ski mask, blue hoodie and black jeans. It’s the sixth shooting death in Lincoln this year.

LPD on Monday also provided an update to the Saturday night shooting at 33rd and Holdrege. Stille says officers arrived to find a 20-year-old Lincoln woman with some gunshot wounds. As of 9:30am Monday, she remains in a Lincoln hospital in stable condition and Stille said they are looking for a suspect, described to them, as a male, about 6-1, 180 pounds, wearing all black clothing and a face mask.

Stille says at least one vehicle was hit by gunfire and 17 rifle casings were found at the scene.  It’s believed these cases are not related.
