LPD Arrest Man For Having Machete Inside Restaurant

LINCOLN–(KFOR June 18)–A 22-year-old Lincoln man is in jail, after he allegedly showed someone he had a machete on him inside a McDonald’s near 48th and “R” late Monday night.

Lincoln Police say Kelly Savage was seen with the weapon by a witness.  Savage apparently had tied the handle to his drawstrings and put the blade part down the front of his pants.

Officers confronted Savage about the machete, where he explained he was hired as a lumberjack by a temp agency as the reason for carrying it.

Savage, who has a criminal history, was then arrested and put in jail for carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person.
