Lincoln Police Officer Assaulted
(KFOR NEWS August 7, 2019) Another example of law enforcement being called to handle a mental health issue here in Lincoln. A Lincoln police officer got into a scuffle Tuesday night with a resident of a Lincoln community transition facility in the 2000 block of Q Street. Police Capt. Ryan Dale tells KFOR NEWS that police were called to the facility after a man was heard screaming that he was an assassin and wanted to kill people. As the officer tried to calm down the man, he threatened to kill the officer, before charging him, and pushing the officer down several stairs. The officer came away with cuts and scrapes, but was able to take the man into custody. Captain Dale praised the restraint of the Officer for using appropriate force on an unarmed man.
