LFR Battles Early Morning Fire at Central Lincoln Business
LINCOLN–(KFOR Dec. 12)–Battling the cold weather, it took about 45 minutes for Lincoln Firefighters to get control of a fire Thursday morning inside an auto body shop on the northwest corner of 20th and Holdrege.
LFR public information officer MJ Lierman tells KFOR News firefighters contained the fire to the office and garage area. The body shop is among several businesses in that location.
“(Fire crews) got a good stop on the fire, so that it didn’t spread to the adjacent structures,” Lierman said.
Because of the need for more resources, especially in cold weather, the fire was made a three-alarm response but Lierman said most crews were immediately put back into service.
Reporter Ryan Swanigan from KFOR’s media partner, 10/11 News, said they could spot the flames coming from the body shop through their tower cam from their studios near 40th and Vine.
No one was hurt in the fire and the cause remains under investigation.
