LINCOLN–(KFOR Oct. 1)–Tom Lemke has been hired as the operations director and human resources for the new Sandhills Global Youth Complex.

Lemke, a former Nebraska baseball player, began the new role in early September after most recently serving on the Life Skills team for Nebraska Athletics, where he helped student-athletes with personal and career development to prepare them for life after sports.

Lemke has a degree in business administration from UNL and earned his master’s in counseling and student development from Kansas State, while serving as a graduate assistant coach on the Wildcat baseball team. He also served one season as an associate head baseball coach at Manhattan Christian College.

“I am beyond thrilled to join the team at the Sandhills Global Youth Complex,” says Lemke. “I can’t wait to be a part of something that is going to have a tremendous impact on youth baseball, softball and the city of Lincoln for years to come. We are all looking forward to opening the gates in the spring!”

The Sandhills Global Youth Complex, located near 1st and Cornhusker, consists of youth-level baseball and softball fields, along with home fields for the Nebraska Wesleyan baseball and softball teams.
