Larceny, Arson are Part of This Week’s Crime Stoppers Report
Back on Sept. 24, Lincoln Police got a report that the cashier of the Kwik Shop off of 44th and Cornhusker went out for a smoke break around 2pm that day. While the clerk was outside, a person inside sitting at some game machines went behind the counter and took a roll of lottery tickets.
LPD forensics technician Becky Keller said the suspect is then seen on camera going back to the game machines and putting the lottery tickets into his backpack. Keller adds the suspect has a tattoo on his left forearm and the hair on the back of his head near his neck is buzzed off.
This past Sunday, Oct. 20, about 3pm, someone arrived at a home near 42nd and Madison, when he saw smoke coming from the backyard of a home. Keller says ultimately, a mattress in the backyard was found to be on fire. The man and some neighbors were able to put the fire out. No major structure damage was reported.
According to Keller, some fresh, presumably human fecal matter was found, along with two vapes were found on the property. Nearby cameras captured a woman seen in the victim’s backyard, then walked away after the mattress was smoking.
