LINCOLN–(KFOR Oct. 16)–An air fryer caught on fire late Tuesday afternoon at a southeast Lincoln home that later caused about $75,000 in damage.
Lincoln Fire and Rescue Public Information Officer MJ Lierman says crews were called to a home near 56th and Elkcrest, where light smoke was seen once inside the house. The fire was contained to the kitchen. No one was hurt and three people inside, along with two pets, managed to escape.
Lierman said the exact cause of the fire was under investigation, but offered a reminder to plug air fryers into wall outlets with adequate space around them and keep appliances away from potential fire hazards.
