Warriors to Play in Heartland Hoops Classic Next February

The schedule is out for the 18th annual Heartland Hoops Classic in Grand Island next February 15 at the Heartland Events Center. Lincoln Lutheran boys basketball team will play Doniphan-Trumbull in a late morning game that day. Ticket prices and other information will be released at a later date.

East Claims Boys State Tennis Title

Lincoln East won the Class A team championship at the Boys State Tennis Meet at Woods Park on Tuesday. The Spartans saw senior Hunter Nelson go undefeated and win the Class A No. 1 singles title and Simon Johnson also go undefeated to capture the No. 2 single championship. East’s No. 1 doubles team of Caden Haar and Samarth Sajeesh won the state title and went undefeated, while teammates Joseph Bucknell and Kayden Le, who had one loss entering state, won the Class A No. 2 Doubles championship. Creighton Prep finished second in the team standings, while Lincoln Southeast and Lincoln Southwest were 3rd and fourth respectively.
