Both the University of Nebraska and the Athletic Department, along with its partners (Pinnacle Bank Arena and Haymarket Park) have been collaborating with the Lincoln Lancaster County Health Department since the beginning of the pandemic.
The collaboration has involved discussions, including but not limited to, COVID-19 testing protocols of students and student-athletes, best practices for the mitigation of COVID-19 on campus and during athletic events, and how to safely protect students, student-athletes, and the fans of athletics events from CVOID-19. These discussions have taken place on at least a weekly basis between the University, Athletic Department and the Health Department since March of 2020, and the LLCHD considers the University a trusted partner in doing what is needed to combat the spread of COVID-19.
