LINCOLN–(KFOR May 20)–Nebraska volleyball player Harper Murray was cited last Thursday by Lincoln Police for theft by shoplifting, after store officials at Scheel’s in Southpointe Pavilions saw her on video, allegedly concealing merchandise in her pockets she didn’t pay for back on May 3.

According to LPD, store security reported seeing Murray on video concealing merchandise in her pockets that she didn’t pay for. Investigators say Murray was seen removing the rings from her pockets while sitting in her car in the parking lot. Five gold rings, worth a total of nearly $65, were found.

Murray was cited for her first DUI back in April and due in court in that case in late June.

In regards to the recent shoplifting citation, Murray issued a statement Monday through Instagram, saying, “I deeply regret some of the recent decisions I’ve made, and the pain that I have caused my family, my team, volleyball fans and everyone who has supported me.  I take full responsibility for my actions.  This past month has been a great opportunity for me to recenter and focus on myself to get back to who I am.”
