LINCOLN–(NU Athletics Oct. 23)–The Nebraska volleyball team moved to No. 1 in the AVCA Coaches Poll released on Monday afternoon.

Following the Huskers’ thrilling five-set win over previously top-ranked Wisconsin on Saturday night, the Huskers received 63 of a possible 64 first-place votes to take over the top spot in the poll for the first time since Oct. 24, 2022. Wisconsin dropped to second, while Stanford, Louisville and Texas rounded out the top five. Creighton is ranked No. 17.

The Huskers are 19-0 on the season, their best start since beginning 2008 with a 20-0 record. Nebraska has been ranked No. 1 in the AVCA Coaches Poll a nation-leading 103 times.

In other honors announced Monday, Nebraska junior opposite hitter Merritt Beason was named Big Ten Volleyball Player of the Week, while freshman setter Bergen Reilly collected Big Ten Setter of the Week honors, for their efforts in wins over Northwestern and Wisconsin. Beason earned her third Big Ten Player of the Week honor this season, and Reilly earned her third Big Ten Setter of the Week accolade.
