LINCOLN–(KFOR June 13)–The hearing on request for a temporary injunction on a bill that bans abortions at 12 weeks while also banning gender-affirming care in Nebraska has been delayed until July 19.

That decision was made by a Lancaster County judge on Monday regarding Planned Parenthood’s lawsuit against LB 574.

Planned Parenthood has argued the law is unconstitutional because Nebraska lawmakers tied an abortion ban to a bill banning gender-affirming care. Once the hearing is set to take place, the abortion ban portion of LB 574 will have been in place for nearly 2 months.

The law banning gender-affirming care for minors takes effect Oct. 1.
