COLUMBUS, OH–(KFOR Oct. 29)–Former University of Nebraska Chief Financial Officer Chris Kabourek will become the next senior vice president for administration and planning at Ohio State University.

The announcement came Monday in a letter sent out to staff and faculty from Ohio State president Ted Carter, the former president of the University of Nebraska system.

Pending approval by the Ohio State University Board of Trustees, Kabourek would start his new job on Friday.

Carter explained in his letter that he worked closely with Kabourek while serving as president of the Nebraska system, saying Kabourek has expertise in facilities and capital planning, accounting, budgeting, procurement, human resources and a deep appreciation to teaching, research, and service and patient care missions.

Kabourek worked in the University of Nebraska system for 27 years, serving as chief financial officer and interim president after Carter’s departure to Ohio State in 2023.  Kabourek left the university in September.
