LINCOLN–(KFOR Nov. 19)–There have been a series of swatting calls the last few days, where it’s prompted Lincoln Fire and Rescue to respond, with the thought of working fires happening.

That’s not the case.

LFR says the 911 center has been getting an increase in calls, where people have been trapped in burning buildings, but authorities have determined those calls were fake. One case happened shortly after noon on Tuesday, where there was a fire call to Lincoln Southeast High School and when LFR crews arrived, they found nothing out of the ordinary and determined it was a hoax.

There was another fake fire call Tuesday afternoon to a home near 30th and Old Cheney where nothing was happening.
