LINCOLN–(KFOR Nov. 14)–Joe Dondlinger has been nominated by Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird to be the City of Lincoln’s new chief financial officer.

Dondlinger is currently the CFO for Apace and has more than 10 years of experience in government budgeting and finance. Dondlinger would start December 10, pending approval by the Lincoln City Council.

With the new role, Dondlinger would be the director of the finance department, that also oversees accounting, administration, city budget, the city clerk’s office, city treasurer, information services and purchasing.

Dondlinger would replace Lyn Heaton, who served as City Financial Officer from June 2022 until July 2024. Former City Budget Officer and Finance Department Director Steve Hubka has served as Interim Chief Financial Officer since July.
