LINCOLN–(KFOR Nov. 19)–Lincoln City Council members on Monday approved of a 3.3% rate increase for Lincoln Electric System customers, which would be an average increase.

For most residential customers, that would equal to about $3 to $4 a month.

It’s the third straight year LES has increased rates, after going five years without doing so. Last year, LES raised rates 4.8%.  LES said an average residential customer using 1,000 kilowatt hours per month will see an average increase of $3.50 a month.

The council on Monday also approved of LES’ budget worth nearly $475-million.
