Child Hit By Vehicle Friday Morning Near Irving Middle School

LINCOLN–(KFOR Oct. 18)–Lincoln Police are investigating a collision between a car and a pedestrian just before 9am Friday near Irving Middle School.

LPD says the collision happened at 22nd and Lake Street, where a 12-year-old child suffered injuries that required treatment at a hospital.  A scooter was spotted beneath the SUV and a black bag was on the ground nearby.

Police said the boy was riding his scooter when he was hit by the vehicle. The child suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the SUV will not be cited, police said.
