Presenters at the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s Annual Economic Development Summit on November 7th, will focus on potential ways to achieve goals identified in the recent Blueprint Nebraska report.

The report is a strategic plan designed to strengthen the statewide economy and quality of life of all Nebraskans through 2030. The report engaged more than 320 government, private sector, agricultural, education and civic leaders across the state over a 12-month research and public input process.

“The power of the Blueprint Nebraska process and report is in the action it inspires – in our communities, businesses, government and schools,” said Bryan Slone, Chamber president.

The conference agenda features the following:

  • Keynote speakers Governor Pete Ricketts and Michael Dixon, Ph.D. president and CEO of UNeMed Corporation at the University of Nebraska Medical Center will share their visions for growing Nebraska, including the role of research and development.
  • Blueprint Nebraska Executive Director will outline the vision, aspirations, initiatives and next steps in the strategic plan. (Learn more at Blueprint-Nebraska.org.)
  • Breakout sessions will offer in-depth looks into the challenges and opportunities awaiting the state in customized workforce solutions, economic incentives, community revitalization and tech-enabled innovation.
  • The University of Nebraska – Lincoln Bureau of Business Research will present its new Nebraska Thriving Index in the afternoon.
