LINCOLN–(KFOR Nov. 12)–A Lincoln man contacted KFOR News on Monday, wanting to get the word out about a scam, saying he received a Facebook Messenger post from Elon Musk, claiming he won a new Tesla and $1-million.

No monetary losses resulted.  But according to Thor Schrock of Schrock Innovations, it’s a phishing scam for your information. Scams are getting more and more sophisticated moving forward, especially with A.I., he said.

Schrock says the best defense to not fall victim from people trying to get your information is to use a two-factor authentication on your computer or phone.

You can hear Schrock on KFOR each Saturday morning at 10am with Compute This.
