Annual KFOR/Legacy Unsung Hero Awards Presented

LINCOLN–(KFOR Nov. 7)–The annual Legacy and KFOR unsung hero awards were presented Thursday at a luncheon at Legacy Estates.

Our Caring Heart Award of $1000 went to Barb Harpham, who paid it forward to the van fund of Lincoln Housing Charities. Our second Caring Heart Award of $1000 was presented to Ed & Cecelia Reinhardt, who paid it forward to the regional office of Special Olympics. Susie Brown was one of our Jerry Joyce Living Legacy Award winners, paying forward $2,500 to the We Can Do It organization at the F Street Community Center.

Jan Hughes was our other Jerry Joyce Living Legacy Award winner. She chose to divide her $2,500 among three non-profits – the Food Bank Child Hunger Program, the People’s City Mission, and Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church to go towards an electronic sign.

These awards have been given annually since 2011 in memory of Jerry Joyce, founder of the Legacy Retirement Communities and sponsored by KFOR and Legacy.
