An 18-year-old is being cited by Animal Control for neglect after 2 Huskies were found dead in an apartment at 2801 F Street on February 1.  Steve Beal with Lincoln Animal Control tells our partner, 10/11 NOW , Gavin Schuette, said he asked someone to feed his dogs while he went out of town, but there were no water or food dishes inside the apartment.  According to Beal, Animal Control was alerted by the landlord of the building after neighbors called in a bad smell coming from the home.  The dogs were likely dead for 7-to-10 days.  Results of testing done by the University of Nebraska vet diagnostic was inconclusive about the cause of death, but the necropsy showed there was food in the dog’s stomach and there were no visible signs of blunt force trauma.
